 Basic Woodwork Workshops

Welcome – I’m so glad you’ve landed here.

Things have been a little quieter in the workshop lately—not quite the steady rhythm of the past 30 years! That’s because I’m deep in the final stages of writing a book for those who want to teach woodworking, run their own workshops, or set up a community shed. It’s a big-hearted project, and it’s taken centre stage for now.

So while my in-person workshops haven’t been as consistent, do stay tuned via my newsletter. Subscribers always get the dates first—before anything appears on social media. I’d love to ‘meet’ you there.

Always check my ‘Book a course” page just in case Ive opened up a couple of workshops (which I do from time to time)

In the meantime, if you’re dipping a toe into woodworking, or just want a gentle and practical way in, you might enjoy my first book:
Woodwork for Women – Cutting a New Path for Beginners.
It’s ideal for absolute beginners—warm, untechnical, and full of real stories from people just like you. The book is now available on both Amazon and IngramSpark.

Have a wander through the website. I hope something sparks your interest—and whether we connect through a future workshop, an online course, or a page in my (infrequent but heartfelt) newsletter,
Workshops do fill quickly.  If the one you’re after is booked out, email me at patt@woodworkforwomen.com.au with the workshop name to join the WAITING LIST. It’s a genuinely worthwhile option—many people get in this way.

Warmly,
Patt

Patt Gregory has been running woodwork workshops for more than 30 years in the lovely town of Mullumbimby in Northern New South Wales (40 minutes drive from the Gold Coast).

I teach that making beautiful things from wood is no big leap, nor something that requires years of practice. Joinery making is a gentle art even though it incorporates the use of loud, sometimes intimidating Power Tools.

I have been running the workshops for over 30 years and each time is a little different as I make it the best it can be so that you can return home feeling settled and confident to know where to start, what those tools are that you need to find in the back of your shed to use, or what to buy new or second hand at your budget level. You get a snapshot of the woodworking industry using knowledge and information to dilute any mystery. So the workshop is jam packed (or sawdust packed full) with heaps to get you going.

Oh and did I say you design, build and take home the project you have made with your own two hands.

Patt Gregory, founder of Woodwork for Women & author of ‘Woodwork for Women: Cutting a New Path for Beginners’.
